Overseeding in Waterloo, Ontario
We overseed thin, patchy Waterloo lawns with Greenhorizons Professional Overseeding Blend, sized to your lawn, starting at $245 plus HST. On the newer west-end streets, Laurelwood and Conservation Meadows, water runs off packed, thin-soiled ground before seed can take, so we core aerate first and seed straight into the open holes the same day. On the mature-canopy streets, Beechwood and Lincoln Heights, a shade-tolerant blend matters more than more seed, and it has to go down early enough to root before the leaves drop. If your overseeding date falls inside the Region of Waterloo’s summer watering restriction, May 31 to September 30, a temporary permit is available for the extra watering new seed needs beyond the normal once-a-week schedule.

Waterloo FAQ
When is the best time to overseed in Waterloo? Late August into early October, warm soil and cooling air. Spring is a real but weaker second option.
My Beechwood lawn is thin under a mature maple. Will seed fix it? A shade-tolerant blend helps, but deep shade and root competition mean some ground under a mature canopy will never be thick turf. We’ll say so honestly rather than oversell it.
Serving Kitchener too
We overseed lawns across Kitchener and Waterloo, with Mannheim at the edge. Full service detail on overseeding and garden beds, and Kitchener’s own notes on overseeding in Kitchener. Full boundary on the service area page.
