Every visit, per-visit or Winter Plan, comes with all of this at no extra charge:

All prices are plus HST. Full-season prices are for Winter Plan Standard: one fixed payment for unlimited qualifying clearings, November 1 to April 15. For per-visit service, you pay for each qualifying clearing.

Two facts worth knowing before winter hits: both Kitchener and Waterloo require the property owner to clear the sidewalk in front of their home within 24 hours of a snowfall (kitchener.ca, “Snow removal”; waterloo.ca, “Snow and ice removal bylaw”). And the windrow, the ridge of packed snow a plow leaves across the end of your driveway, is the homeowner’s job in Waterloo (waterloo.ca, “How we clear snow”). Kitchener doesn’t clear it for you either, unless you qualify for its assisted snow clearing program (kitchener.ca, “Snow removal”). Every driveway visit clears the city sidewalk out front and the windrow at the end of your driveway, so you’re covered on both.

How it works

1. Sign up for per-visit clearing or a Winter Plan, by driveway size.
2. We watch the forecast. No call needed from you.
3. Snow hits 5 cm, you’re on the route automatically, usually cleared within 12 hours of it stopping.
4. Driveway, front path, front sidewalk, salt, included every visit. For a corner lot’s extra side-street sidewalk, add $7 per started 10 metres per visit, or $105 per started 10 metres for the full season, plus HST. No extra charge if there is no side-street sidewalk or the City clears it.
5. You’re billed for what happened. Per-visit customers pay per clearing; season customers pay once, up front.

Snow clearing FAQ

What if it only snows 4 cm? We don’t come, and you’re not charged. Below 5 cm we leave it. A Winter Plan includes ice control on those light, borderline days, which is usually the part that actually matters underfoot.

Do I have to call you when it snows, or be home? No. Once you’re on the route, the snowfall triggers the visit, not a phone call, and you don’t need to be home.

Am I still responsible for my sidewalk if I hire you? The bylaw responsibility sits with the property owner in both Kitchener and Waterloo, but your KW clearing covers the city sidewalk out front as part of every visit, so that box is checked either way.

Is pet-safe salt actually eco-friendly? No, and we won’t tell you it is. The Region of Waterloo says plainly that “environmentally friendly ice melters contain salt and are not water friendly” (regionofwaterloo.ca, “Salt management”). Our pet-safe upgrade is gentler on paws, concrete and garden beds than standard rock salt, and we use only what’s needed either way.

What happens if a storm runs all night? The 12-hour clock starts once the snow actually stops. A storm that stacks on a storm can push the route, and our weather-delay terms are on our policies page.
